I’m an NC native who left banking to work in wealth management in 2014 expecting it to be a smart career move. And it was. I founded Reach Strategic Wealth in 2019 expecting it to be a more profitable long-term path. And I expect it will be.
What’s shaped me more along the way than financial success is financial independence.
In 2018 my wife, Sally, and I became foster parents. This event kicked off a years long process of foster care and pursuit of an (ongoing) adoption. It’s been challenging on a level I couldn’t expect and more than that it’s been demanding. Demanding on our time. Demanding on our energy.
I can safely say that it’s only because of the support of others, our financial planning, and our extreme time-affluence (that’s what I like to call being your own boss) that our family has been able to enjoy growing together during this season of life.
That’s why I get so excited when clients come to me considering delegating their financial lives to buy back years of their time through smart career moves. I know what it can mean for those who are ready to do it and I know what it can take to get there.
